Tenure of 11th parliament ends today

The tenure of 11th National Parliament will end today (January 29). The current parliament had a maximum of 25 sessions. The 12th National Parliament will start its journey from tomorrow. The first session of this parliament will begin at 3pm on Tuesday (January 30).
The Parliament Secretariat has completed all the preparations for holding the first session of the 12th parliament. President Mohammed Shahabuddin will address the first session.
According to sources from the Parliament Secretariat, the 11th National Parliament started its journey on January 30, 2019 and its session ended on November 2, 2023. The total working days of the 11th National Parliament were 272 days.
Some 165 bills have been passed. A total of 1,336 questions were available for the Prime Minister to answer in the 11th Parliament.
The Prime Minister answered 566 questions. Some 30,641 questions were available for other ministers. Among them, the ministers answered 17,762 questions.
The 25th session of the 11th Parliament began on October 22. Although the session lasted for nine working days, some 25 bills were passed in just eight days of this session. Among them, seven bills were passed on the last day of the session.
Two special sessions were held in the current parliament on the occasion of the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of the National Parliament.
