6 Japanese Studies students get Mitsubishi Corporation Scholarship

Six students of the Department of Japanese Studies of Dhaka University (DU) have received the Mitsubishi Corporation Scholarship this year, according to a press release issued on Wednesday (January 31).
Country Representative of Mitsubishi Corporation Bangladesh Myungho Lee handed over a cheque for Tk 0.79 million to DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. A. S. M. Maksud Kamal at the latter’s office on Thursday as the scholarship money for the students, the release said.
Accordingly, each student will get Tk 1,32,000 from the money.
Chairman of the Department of Japanese Studies, Dr Jahangir Alam, Director of DU Public Relations Office, Mahmood Alam, Manager Syeda Shahtaz Saiara, and Assistant Manager Nusrat Jahan of Mitsubishi Corporation were present on this occasion.
VC Prof Kamal thanked Mitsubishi Corporation authorities for providing scholarships to the Department of Japanese Studies students.
Terming Japan as one of the most significant development partners of Bangladesh, the VC said, “The friendly relationship between the two states has been prevailing since the country’s Independence.”
This relationship will be further strengthened in the days to come through the scholarship programme, he hoped.
