Bangladesh will draw UN attention on Myanmar issue: Quader

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said if there raises any issue of Myanmar’s conflict with Bangladesh, then the Bangladesh government will draw the attention of the United Nations and other international forums.

He said this at a media briefing at AL Central office of Bangabandhu Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.

“The ongoing conflict in Myanmar is their internal affairs, and Bangladesh does not want to engage in war with anyone”, he said.
He added, “Myanmar has no dispute with us. It is our decision to solve any problem through discussion”.

Replying to a query, the minister said about party nominations for reserved women's seats in the Jatiya Sangsad, Awami League will nominate those who have given up and tried.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina started working over the next election soon after the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) polls and even during her district visits, she uses to write down the names of suitable individuals and use it in time.

Quader said, the election Commission (EC) will announce the election schedule and then the party nomination board will sit to finalize the candidature in 48 reserved seats.
