25 indicted in case over murder of retired CID official

Charges have been framed against 25 in a case lodged over the murder of retired additional superintendent of police of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Fazlul Karim Khan.
Dhaka First Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Foysal Atik Bin Qader passed the order on Wednesday, initiating the trial officially.
The accused in the case are- SM Moazzem Hossain Topu, Wasim Ahmed, Shahriar Asif, Enamul Haque, Md Selim, Md Imam Hossain, Orpon Ahmed, Shafikul Islam, Md Shahjalal, Md Habel, Qazi Masud Pervej, Md Al Amin, Hasan Abdul Baki, Abu Bakar Siddiq, Md Hemayet Hossain, Md Ruhul Amin, Shafikul Islam Badshah, Md Delwar Hossain, Md Munna, Haji Babu, Md Biplob Hossain, Nasir Sheikh, Mamun and Sujon.
Khan was killed in his West Rampura house in the capital on August 29, 2013. His son-in-law Barrister Chowdhury Mokim Uddin filed the case the next day.
Police on July 27, 2017, filed charge-sheet against 25. But the complainant filed naraji petition against the charge-sheet filed by the detective branch of police.
Of the 25 accused, 13 are on bail and 12 are yet to be arrested.
According to the police, Fazlul Karim Khan was very active and vocal against the drug traders in the area.
