Fire breaks out at Mirpur Jhilpara slum

A fire broke out at Jhilpara slum in Mirpur-12 in the capital on Monday afternoon (February 19).

Lima Khanam, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters media cell, said the fire originated from one of the shanties of the slum around 12:45pm.

Eight fire-fighting units are working to bring the fire under their control, she added.

The reasons behind the fire could not be known immediately.
