Mirpur slum fire brought under control

The fire that broke out at Jhilpar slum in the capital’s Mirpur was brought under control after around an hour.

Eight firefighting units brought the fire under control around 2:00pm on Monday (February 19) at Jhilpar slum in Mirpur-12, said Lima Khanam, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence control room.

She said the fire broke out around 12:45pm.

The cause of the fire could not be known immediately, she added.
