DMP issues traffic guidelines for Int’l Mother Language Day

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued a set of traffic guidelines to ensure smooth management of vehicular movement during the commemorative events of International Mother Language Day and Martyrs' Day on 21 February.
DMP issued a press notification in this regard on Monday (February 19).
Road closures or road diversions:
The routes are Shahbagh crossing, TSC crossing, Doel Square crossing, High Court crossing, Shahidullah Hall crossing, Dhaka University Gymnasium grounds, Ramna crossing, Jagannath Hall crossing, Nilkhet crossing, Palashi crossing, Bakshi Bazar crossing and Chankharpul crossing.
Alternative routes:
Katabon crossing- Nilkhet crossing- Palashi crossing- Bakshibazar crossing- Chankharpul crossing.
Shahbagh crossing- Katabon crossing- Bata Signal crossing- Science Lab crossing- Mirpur Road.
Shahbagh crossing- Matsya Bhaban crossing- Kadamfoara crossing- High Court crossing- Abdul Gani Road- Zero Point crossing.
High Court crossing- Bangabazar crossing- Police Headquarters- Golap Shah Mazar crossing- Fulbaria crossing.
Shahbagh crossing- Hotel Intercontinental crossing- Bangla Motor crossing- Sonargaon crossing- Farmgate crossing- Bakshibazar crossing- Chankharpul crossing- Nimtali crossing- Mayor Hanif Flyover.
Entry prohibited
Bakshi Bazar - Jagannath Hall crossing road; Chankharpul- Ramna Chattar crossing; TSC- Shivbari crossing and DU VC residence.
Vehicle parking space
Gymnasium Ground at Dhaka University is reserved for VIPs. Mukarram Bhaban Field at Dhaka University is allocated to law enforcers. The area from Nilkhet Crossing to Palashi Crossing is open to the general public.
