Reserved women’s seat: 50 candidates elected unopposed

After scrutinization, the Election Commission (EC) has announced that all 50 nomination papers for the reserved women seats in the 12th parliament are valid.

The EC announced that all women candidates for reserved seats were elected unopposed as no aspirant withdrew her nomination paper till 4:00 pm on Sunday (February 25).

EC Joint Secretary Md Moniruzzaman Talukder, the returning officer assigned for the election, came up with the information and said a gazette will be published on Tuesday (February 27), announcing 50 women candidates for reserved seats as winners.

Of the nomination papers, 48 were from the Awami League and its alliance, and two were from the Jatiya Party.
