Bailey Road fire: Building manager detained

Police have detained the manager of Green Cozy Cottage building located in the capital’s Baily Road over the fire incident in that building.
He was detained on Saturday (March 2) noon.
Confirming the matter, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) of DMP Media and Public Relations Department Md Farooq Hossain said, “Details regarding the issue will be briefed later.”
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ramna Police Station Utpal Barua said, “The manager has been detained few moments ago. Now he is being quizzed about the various aspects of the building.”
Earlier on March 1, police detained manager of Kacchi Bhai restaurant and two owners of Cha Chumuk restaurant in connection with the fire incident at a building on Bailey Road in Dhaka that caused the death of at least 46 people.
Mentionable, a terrible fire erupted at Green Cozy Cottage Shopping Mall on Bailey Road in the capital on Thursday (February 29) night, killing 46 people so far. 75 people were rescued alive in this connection. 11 people are undergoing treatment at hospitals.
