Former Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed has said that he will resign from the Jatiya Sangsad if the allegations regarding the accumulation of wealth have proved.
The former minister has admitted that he has assets in London but he claimed that he did not accumulate the wealth during his tenure as a minister of the government.
Javed said this at a press conference at the National Press Club in Dhaka on Saturday in response to a report recently published in Bloomberg, an international news agency headquartered in New York City.
His father had done business in London since 1967. He himself studied in the United States and has been done business there since 1991. After that he has expanded the business to London, he claimed.
He has also urged the government to form a high-powered committee to thoroughly investigate the allegations.
