Raid in restaurants: 24 detained

Police are conducting drives against irregularities and mismanagement in hotels and restaurants following the Bailey Road fire incident, which resulted in the deaths of 46 people.
As part of it, police, in separate raids, detained 24 people, including owners and managers of different eateries in the capital’s Kamrangirchar thana, including Rasulpur, Ashrafabad, and Lohar Bridge, on Monday (March 4) night.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Police (Lalbagh Zone) Shahidul Sahed confirmed the development.
“The detained individuals have been sent to the court for their alleged involvement in irregularities and mismanagement,” he said.
Along with the police, city corporations and Rajuk, are also conducting raids against unauthorized restaurants in the capital.
