Moon-sighting committee to sit this evening

The National Moon-Sighting Committee will hold a meeting this evening (March 11) to determine the beginning of the month of Ramadan.

The meeting will be held at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation's Baitul Mukarram office in Dhaka at 6:30pm.

Religious Affairs Minister Md Faridul Haque Khan will preside over the meeting.

According to the Islamic Foundation, if the moon of the month of Ramadan of Hijri 1445 is sighted on Monday evening, the fasting will start from Tuesday.
