179 BGP members take shelter in Bangladesh again

179 members of Border Guard Police of Myanmar took shelter in Bangladesh amid clashes with separatists in the border region.
Md. Shariful Islam, public relations officer of Border Guard Bangladesh, said a total of 179 BGP members have come to Bangladesh and taken refuge in 11 BGB areas since Monday morning.
Bandarban Deputy Commissioner Shah Mojahid Uddin said that the members of Myanmar BGP entered Bangladesh through the Naikhangchhari border.
Earlier, a total of 330 Myanmar nationals, who crossed the border and took refuge in Bangladesh to escape the fighting between the Myanmar junta and the Arakan Army, were sent back to their country.
