Sale of Eid advance train tickets will begin March 24

Bangladesh Railway will start the advance sale of train tickets for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr from March 24.

The railway authorities have set a ticket sale plan considering that Eid will be observed on April 11.

This year, all tickets will be available online.

The sale will continue till March 31. The train tickets for April 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 will be available on March 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30 respectively.

Railways Minister Md Zillur Hakim said this to journalists after a meeting at Rail Bhaban in the capital on Wednesday.

Later, Sardar Shahadat Ali, acting director general of the Railway, disclosed their plan in details at a press conference. 

This is the first time that tickets will be sold region wise in two shifts. Tickets for western region-bound trains will go on sale from 8:00am while sale of tickets for East-bound trains will begin from 2:00pm.

The sale of return train tickets for 13 April will begin from 3 April.
