‘Govt taking steps to bring back hostages to country’

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury has said the government is taking steps to bring back 23 crew members of a Bangladeshi-flagged ship named MV Abdullah. who have been hijacked by Somalian pirates in the Indian Ocean near Somalia.

The state minister said this to journalists after a meeting on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister has given a direction to the Foreign Minister to take steps in this regard, he said. 

All the crew members who have been hijacked have remained well and safe, he also said.
