Two more RMG factories obtain Leed Green certification

Two more Bangladeshi readymade garment (RMG) factory units have obtained United States Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leed certification (certificate for green factories).

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) said this on Saturday (March 16). 

In March, Windy Apparels Limited, a Gazipur-based factory unit, received a gold certificate from the USGBC at Leed BD+C: New Construction v4 rating system with a score of 69 out of 110. 

Another factory unit, Tangail based Comfit Banana Leaf, also obtained a gold certificate at Leed BD+C: New Construction v4 rating system with a score of 73.

With this, the number of green factories in the country rose to 213 as of Saturday.
