Adv Juthi secures anticipatory bail from HC

The High Court has granted anticipatory bail to Advocate Nahid Sultana Juthi in a case filed over violence during the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) election.
The High Court bench of Justice Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman and Justice SM Masud Hossain Dolan granted the bail petition and passed the order on Wednesday (March 20).
Advocate Sheikh Awsafur Rahman Bulu stood for Juthi while deputy attorney general KM Masud Rumi represented the state during the hearing in the court.
Advocate Juthi is the wife of Jubo League chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash.
Earlier on Tuesday, Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan fixed a new bench for hearing the anticipatory bail petition of Nahid Sultana Juthi, an independent secretary candidate in the SCBA polls.
On March 18, a High Court bench of Justice Md Salim and Justice Shahed Nuruddin refused to hear the anticipatory bail petition of Juthi, Adv Shakila and Barrister Kabita.
On March 8, assistant attorney general Md Saifur Rahman Siddiqui Saif filed an attempt to murder case at the Shahbagh Police Station against 20 people, including Independent secretary candidate Nahid Sultana Juthi and Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajol.
Besides, 30-40 more unnamed people were made accused in the case.
