Average daily transaction of MFS hits Tk4,000cr

Mobile money transactions are increasing day by day. Mobile financial service (MFS) providers recorded Tk 4,000 crore-worth transactions in a day, the highest ever so far in the first month of this current year.

The updated statistics of Bangladesh Bank’s Mobile Financial Services (MFS) revealed the information.

According to the data of Bangladesh Bank, it has been seen that in the first month of this year January, customers transacted Tk129,445 crore through bKash, Rocket, Nagad, and other similar platforms. That is the second highest transaction ever recorded.

At present, about 13 banks and institutions including bKash, Rocket, Ukash, MYCash, SureCash are providing MFS services.

At the end of June 2024, the number of registered customers in mobile banking stood at 21,91,73,000. The reason for the high number of subscribers is that many customers are using multiple SIMs.

The analysis of the central bank statistics said among the registered mobile banking accounts till January, 12,71,81,000 are male customers and 9,13,79,000 are female customers. The number of mobile banking agents stood at 17,39,321.
