This year minimum fitra fixed at Tk115 per person

This year the minimum level of fitra has been fixed at Tk 115 per person while the maximum at Tk 2,970.
The maximum Fitra was Tk 2,640 in the previous year.
The National Fitra Committee set the latest rates at a meeting in Baitul Mukarram Islamic Foundation in Dhaka on Thursday (March 21).
The committee’s head and Baitul Mukarram National Mosque’s khatib Hafez Maulana Mufti Mohammad Ruhul Amin presided over the meeting.
Mufti Muhammad Mahmudul Hasan, the head of Kaderia Tayyebiya Kamil Madrasa, Muhaddith Mufti Abdus Salam of Jamia Shariah, Circuit House Jame Masjid Khatib Mufti Maulana Arif Uddin Maruf, Director of the Islamic Foundation, Syed Shah Imran and others attended the meeting.
Fitra, also known as Zakat al-Fitr or Fitrana, is a form of compulsory charity that Muslims pay at the end of Ramadan. The rate of Fitra is fixed on the basis of market prices of wheat, flour, dates, cheese, raisins and some other essentials.
