Demra warehouse fire under control after 8.5 hours

A massive fire that raced through a sports goods warehouse in the capital's Demra was brought under control after more than eight hours efforts.
Fire service control room confirmed the matter on Friday morning (March 22).
Earlier, the blaze was reported around 11:30pm on Thursday (March 21) at the 4-story building in Demra’s Bhanga Press area. On information, a total of 11 fire units rushed to the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control.
Lt. Col Md Rezaul Karim, Director of Fire Service (Development and Training) said that the fire is unlikely to spread further outside. However, it may take more time to completely douse the blaze as there is no alternate exit point in the building.
There was no news of any casualties in the fire, he added.
