Death toll from Gazipur gas cylinder blast rises to 16

Another person succumbed to injuries from the gas cylinder blast in Gazipur's Kaliakair upazila, taking the death toll to 16.

Lalon Mia, 24, a garment worker, breathed his last at the intensive care unit around 3:00am on Sunday (March 24).

Torikul Islam, resident surgeon of the hospital said the victim had 45 percent burns on his body.

Ten more burn injured people are currently admitted to the hospital following the incident. None of them are out of danger.

Earlier on March 13, at least 36 people, including women and children, were injured after a gas cylinder caught fire following a leak in Gazipur's Kaliakoir.
