Production of two plants of Khulna Power shut

Two power plants of Khulna Power Company Limited (KPCL), which is listed in the energy and power sector in the capital market, has stopped its production on Sunday (March 24).
The two power stations are 115 MW plant of KPC Unit-2 of Khulna, and 40 MW plant of Nawapara KPC of Jashore.
Dhaka and Chattogram Stock Exchange (DSE-CSE) sources confirmed the matter.
The government's agreement to purchase electricity from the two plants for two years, has expired. As a result, the production of two power plants of the company has been stopped.
Earlier on March 24, 2022, Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) had given approval to the company to generate power for two years.
