Policemen built resistance at Bangabandhu’s call: Home boss

Inspired by the call from Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the police members of Rajarbagh resisted against the military crackdown by the then Pakistan occupation force, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said.
The Bengali nation will never forget their sacrifice, he said.
The minister made the remarks while replying to a question after paying homage to the martyred policemen at Rajarbagh Police Lines in the capital on Tuesday (March 26) morning.
Asaduzzaman said, the way policemen resisted against the then Pakistan occupation force at Rajarbagh on the night of March 25, 1971 can never be forgotten and due to their strong resistance, Pakistan occupation force was compelled to retreat. On that day, many police officers lost their lives in fight against them.
