Bus fare cut by Tk 0.03 per km, effective from today

Road transport and bridges ministry has issued a circular reducing the fare of diesel-run buses by Tk 0.03 per kilometre.

The new fare would be effective from today (Tuesday), said the circular.

Earlier, as per the order of President Md Abdul Hamid, Deputy Secretary of Road Transport and Highways Division Md Monirul Alam signed the notification.

However, the minimum fare for buses and minibuses plying in Dhaka and Chattogram metropolitan areas will remain unchanged.

The current fare of diesel-powered buses and minibuses running on inter-district and long routes is Tk 2.15 a kilometre. The fare is now refixed at Tk 2.12 per kilometre.

The fare of buses running in Dhaka and Chattogram metropolitan cities is now Tk 2.45 a kilometre, while the government decreased it to Tk 2.42 per kilometre.
