14 buses gutted in Demra garage fire

At least 14 buses were gutted in a fire at a garage in the capital's Demra on Monday night (April 1).

The burnt buses belonged to a transport company named London Express.

Following the incident, a security guard was detained from the garage.

Fire service headquarters duty officer Rafi Al Faruk said a probe committee has been formed in this regard. The reason behind the fire can be known after getting the report.

Earlier, the fire originated in the garage around 8:50pm. Five fire units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control around 9:45pm.
