None can go home with motorcycle during Eid: DMP boss

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman said, “More than half of the country’s road accidents happen on motorcycles. So, it is forbidden to go home with a motorcycle on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.”

Thinking of the security issue, even policemen cannot go home on motorcycles, he added.

The DMP commissioner made the directive after inspecting security in front of Basundhara City Shopping Centre at Panthapath intersection in the capital on Tuesday (April 2).

“People have been forbidden to go home with motorcycles to avoid road accidents during the Eid as vehicular pressure on the road remains high at this time,” Commissioner Habibur said.
