Heat alert issued for four divisions 

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a heat alert for four divisions of the country, including the capital Dhaka.

The divisions are Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Rajshahi.

The heat alert will continue for the next 72 hours.

The four divisions are currently experiencing heat waves. The extremity of the heat waves are feared to increase further and will surge over 40°C, said a meteorologist.
