Banks open in industrial areas on Apr 5-7

The banks will be open in some areas on a limited scale even on weekends before the Eid, according to Bangladesh Bank.
The designated bank branches in industrial areas will remain open during the holidays to continue export proceeds, withdraw money, and pay workers.
April 5 and 6 are weekends and April 7 is a public holiday for Shab-e-Qadr. However, bank transactions in the areas will be conducted at a limited basis instead of full-day.
Neeru Nasreen, joint director, Debt Management Department, Bangladesh Bank, said that on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, the respective branches of the commercial banks will be open on April 5, 6 and 7. The garment industry related branches of Scheduled Bank located in Dhaka city, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhaluka, Narayanganj and Chattogram will remain open on holidays by ensuring adequate security.
Transactions will be conducted from 9:30am to 12:30pm while other office work will be done until 3pm on Friday, April 5.
