4 accused sent to jail after remand

Four people were sent to jail by a Dhaka court after two phases of remand on charges of shackling, confining and raping a young girl at a house in Mohammadpur.

Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Nurul Huda Chowdhury passed the order on Monday (April 8).

The accused are- Himel, Rocky, Salma Akhter alias Jhumur, and the victim’s boyfriend Sun.

Sub Inspector Faruqul Islam, the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, produced the four accused before the court after remand seeking five days fresh remand.

According to the case statement, a 23-year-old woman had been shackled at a flat in Nabinagar Housing in Mohammadpur for 25 days, and gang raped by the accused repeatedly.
