PM declares Debiganj of Panchagarh as pourasava

Debiganj (Panchagarh, risingbd24.com)--Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday declared Debiganj upazila of Panchagarh district as municipal corporation or pourasava.
The Prime Minister arrived at Debiganj High School ground boarding a helicopter at around 11am. Afterward, she declared Debiganj as a new pourasava at a public meeting there.

Later, Sheikh Hasina went to Moinamotir Char under the upazila by road and formally ianugurated the 10th National Rover Moot and the 5th National Community Development Camp.

More than 7,000 scouts and rovers from 639 units of 64 districts of the country as well as from abroad are attending the Camp.
 
Afterward, the prime minister went to Panchagarh and was staying at the local circuit house till filing this report.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address a public meeting at Panchagarh Sugar Mills ground in the afternoon before leaving for Dhaka. A huge podium has been erected at Panchagarh Sugar Mills ground on the occasion.

During this visit, the Prime Minister also inaugurated a new 100-bed Panchagarh Mokbular Rahman Diabetic Hospital constructed at Taka 6.30 crore, Panchagarh-Tentulia National Highway and Boda-Debiganj Regional Highway at Taka 330 crore, Panchagarh Greed Sub-station at Taka 65 crore and Tentulia Meteorological Observatory at Taka 2.34 crore.

Besides, she laid foundation stone of the Panchagarh part construction works of the Taka 831 crore Panchagarh-Parbotipur Dual Gauge Rail Line Project of Bangladesh Railway.
