Jail, fine if Aedes larvae found: Mayor Atiqul

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam said all legal actions, including jail sentence and fine, will be taken if Aedes mosquito larvae are found in any house, office, under-construction building and roof garden from April 27.

He made the warning during the DNCC’s month-long awareness campaign inauguration at Rupnagar in the capital’s Mirpur on Monday (April 22).

The DNCC mayor said: “Jail sentences and fines will be imposed if Aedes mosquito larvae are found in any house or office from Saturday. Even a government office and city corporation office will not be spared. The amount of the fines will significantly increase.”
