The country’s second submarine cable South East Asia-Middle East-Western Europe 5 (SEA-ME-WE-5) has been damaged.
As a result, internet users across Bangladesh have been experiencing a slowdown for last several days.
The repair work has yet to be completed. It will persist until the last week of May.
General Manager (Operation and Maintenance) of Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC Saidur Rahman confirmed this on Tuesday.
The cable, SEA-ME-WE-5, broke down in the Indonesian sea coast area on Saturday.
