A Dhaka court set July 1 for holding the hearing on the charge-framing in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act against Dhallywood actor Pori Moni and two others.
Judge Nazrul Islam of Dhaka 10th Special Judge Court passed the order on Sunday (April 28).
Court sources said today was the day of taking testimony in the case. However, Nilanjana Rifat, the lawyer of Pori Moni said the Appellate Division has concluded its hearing on the stay of the case. She requested the court to delay the taking of testimony till the certified copy of the suspension order arrived. Later, the court accepted the plea and fixed July 1 for the next hearing.
Azad Rahman, lawyer of the concerned court confirmed the matter to risingbd.
It is mentionable that the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained Pori Moni on August 4, 2021, from her Banani flat and seized large amounts of foreign liquor and different drugs from there.
