Fisheries and Livestock Minister Abdur Rahman has said that the government has no plan to import sacrificial animals on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha as there is no shortage of sacrificial animals in the country.
“The government is working to increase meat production by encouraging and reinforcing domestic farmers. We are also trying to keep meat prices within the purchasing capacity of the people,” he said.
The minister disclosed the information at a press briefing at his secretariat office on Sunday (April 28).
