Cucumbers being sold at Tk 6 per kg in Thakurgaon

Good quality cucumbers are being sold on a van at Khilgaon in the capital at Tk 40 per kg.  Low quality cucumbers are being sold at 25 taka. During visit to different markets in the city, it was seen that cucumbers are being sold at Tk 25 to Tk 40.

A vendor named Md Jalil sells cucumbers at Tk 25 in the capital’s Moghbazar area. He bought cucumbers from Mymensingh at Tk 15 per kg.

Md Jalil said three or four of them bought 40 mounds of cucumbers at a cost of Tk 5,000, and their transportation cost was Tk 3,500. In Dhaka, they make profit Tk 5 to Tk 6 per kg.

It was learnt that good quality cucumbers are being sold at Tk 6 per kg in Thakurgaon.
