Jhenaidah-1 by-election on June 5 

As per previous schedule, the Jhenaidah-1 (Shailkupa) constituency by-election will be held on June 5.  

A circular signed by Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat Md Jahangir Alam was issued in this regard on Monday (May 13).

Earlier, the Chamber Judge scraped a High Court order that halted the electoral process.

The Jhenaidah-1 seat fell vacant following the demise of Member of Parliament and District Awami League President Abdul Hai on March 16.
