Strict enforcement of ‘No Helmet No Fuel` policy begins

The government is going to issue directives making it mandatory for motorcycle drivers and riders to wear helmets across the country.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader announced that motorcycles without riders wearing helmets will be denied fuel.

He made this announcement during the first meeting of the advisory council at Banani in the capital on Wednesday (May 15).

Obaidul Quader also said that we have been able to control the motorcycle in Dhaka city. Almost everyone wears helmets now. But same policy needs to be taken outside Dhaka as well.

Bangladesh Workers Federation President Shajahan Khan, Dhaka South City Corporation mayor Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh, Dhaka North City Corporation mayor Md Atiqul Islam, BRTA Chairman Nur Mohammad Majumdar and others attended the meeting.
