Capital market manipulation: Finance Ministry wants report on Farooq

The Ministry of Finance has taken a strict stance against Abdul Quader Farooq, an accused of manipulation and frauds in the capital market.
The ministry took the step after a report titled ‘Farooq, the villain of the capital market’ had been published in media.
The ministry has asked the regulatory body Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) to submit a report on Abdul Quader Farooq and his associates.
In the second week of this month, a letter signed by Joint Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division of the ministry, was sent to BSEC.
According to the letter, they have been asked to submit a report within 15 working days.
