Kolkata police have detained three persons over the killing of Jhenaidah-4 constituency MP Anwarul Azim Anar, who went missing on May 13 after going to India.
His severed body was recovered from a flat in New Town area of Kolkata on Wednesday.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal disclosed the information at a press conference held at his Dhanmondi residence in the capital on Wednesday (May 22) noon.
“It is still unclear where the body is. However, we are keeping a watchful eye on the entire incident,” he said.
Azim was the AL lawmaker from the Jhenaidah-4 constituency.
MP Anwarul Azim, who is a resident of the Nischintapur village in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenaidah, went to West Bengal of India on May 12. He went out to see a physician the next day and did not return. Later, his severed body was recovered from a flat in New Town area of Kolkata on Wednesday (May 22).
