Mastermind behind MP Anwarul Azim murder held: Foreign Minister

Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said Kolkata police did not find any dead body in the flat in West Bengal’s New Town area where Jhenaidah-4 constituency MP Anwarul Azim Anar is believed to have been killed. DB police detained several persons including the key mastermind of this murder.
Kolkata police also detained two suspected people in this connection. An investigation is underway as to how the murder took place, he said while briefing journalists after attending a seminar in Dhaka University on Wednesday (May 22) noon.
The foreign minister called the murder as a sad, shocking, and inadvertent incident.
MP Anwarul Azim, who is a resident of the Nischintapur village in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenaidah, went to West Bengal of India on May 12. He went out to see a physician the next day and did not return. Later, his severed body was recovered from a flat in New Town area of Kolkata on Wednesday (May 22).
Azim was the AL lawmaker from the Jhenaidah-4 constituency.
