Low pressure likely to develop

A low pressure is likely to develop over southwest Bay and adjoining West central Bay.
It is likely to intensify further and form a cyclone today (May 22). It will be named Remal.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said this at a weather bulletin on Wednesday evening.
Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over two northern divisions; at a few places over four divisions and at one or two places over two southern divisions.
“Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions; at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Khulna and Barishal divisions, according to met office forecast.
Mild heat wave is sweeping over Sylhet division and the districts of Dhaka, Netrokona, Chattogram, Rangamati, Feni, Cox's Bazar, Bagerhat, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may continue.
