Bulkhead movement to be halted for 11 days

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said that the movement of all types of bulkheads will be halted 11 days from June 13 to 23 to ensure safety on river route centering Eid-ul-Azha festival.

The minister said this in a meeting at his secretariat office on Thursday (May 23).

He said all measures have been taken to ensure smooth Eid journey like the Eid-ul-Fitr.

The minister also said that the number of ferries to Kazirhat, Paturia ghat will be increased as usual. The number of launches will also be increased on some routes.

He also urged everyone to follow the weather forecast properly as this Eid journey would be a bit risky due to rainy season.
