All govt officials` leaves cancelled

The government cancelled the leave of officials and employees of all ministries, divisions, and departments along with city corporations and municipalities to tackle the aftermath of Cyclone Remal.

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Md Mohibbur Rahman made the announcement after a meeting at his secretariat on Sunday (May 26).

He said the leave of all government officials has been cancelled until the cyclone is over. Launch, steamers which are plying will remain closed. We have also decided to close the Bangabandhu Tunnel from this evening till tomorrow morning.

The minister also urged the people in cyclone-prone areas to go to cyclone shelters.
