3 die by electrocution in Dhaka

Three people including two women died from electrocution during the storm in two separate locations the capital on Monday (May 27).

The deceased were known as Marium Begum, 45, Md Rakib, 25, and Liza Akter, 15.

Police said that Marium Begum became senseless when she touched an electric pole while crossing road at Sipahibagh in Khilgaon. Later, locals took her to the hospital where the duty doctor declared her dead.

Besides, a young lady named Liza Akter died from electrocution aiming heavy rain in Dhaka’s Jatrabari area.

On the other hand, a youth named Rakib died was electrocuted in a garage of auto-rickshaw in Taltola of Khilgaon.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost In-charge Md Bacchu Mia said the bodies of the three victims were kept at morgue.
