18 Dhaka city wards are at high risk of dengue

A health directorate survey has found 18 wards in Dhaka's two city corporations are at high risk of dengue, an Aedes aegypti mosquito-borne disease.
The survey was conducted jointly by the two city corporations of Dhaka and the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) between 17-26 April.
The data of the survey of the pre-monsoon Aedes Survey-2024 was presented in a program at the Directorate of Health in the capital on Tuesday (May 28).
The Breteau Index or BI of Aedes mosquitoes is more than 18 in 99 wards of the two city corporations.
The wards at risk of Dhaka North City Corporation are – 12, 13, 20, 36, 31, 32, 17 and 33. The vulnerable wards of Dhaka South City Corporation are – 4, 13, 52, 54, 16, 3, 5, 15, 17 and 23.
