US corporate giants keen to invest in Bangladesh

American conglomerates like Amazon, Chevron, Coca-Cola and Boeing are keen to invest in Bangladesh.

State Minister for Commerce Ahasanul Islam Titu said this to journalists, following a meeting with a delegation from the USA at the Bangladesh Secretariat in the capital on Tuesday (May 28).

Among the interested US companies, Amazon wants access to central bonded warehouses to enjoy tax benefits, the state minister said. The facility could potentially take Bangladesh products and raw materials to international markets through Amazon e-commerce system.

“We're working to make it easier for American companies to invest and operate in Bangladesh. The goal is to ensure that these companies can operate smoothly without any hindrances,” the state minister said.
