Govt hikes fuel prices

The government has increased retail prices of diesel, kerosene, petrol and octane following the automatic fuel system to adjust fuel prices in light of global fuel prices.
As per a gazette notification on Thursday (May 30), the prices of diesel and kerosene was raised by Tk0.75 to Tk107.75 per litre from existing Tk107 while the price of petrol was set at Tk127 per litre from Tk124.50, up by Tk3.50 per litre and octane price was set at Tk131 per litre from Tk128.50, up by Tk2.50.
The new prices will come into effect from Saturday (June 1).
Although the price of fuel oil has decreased slightly in the international market, the price has been adjusted due to the devaluation of taka against the US dollar.
