Foreign secy to visit China ahead of PM’s tour

Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen is scheduled to visit Beijing to prepare the grounds for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to China today (June 2). The secretary will have bilateral discussions with his Chinese counterpart.
The foreign ministry sources said the foreign secretary-level meeting will be held in Beijing on Monday (June 3). The Foreign Secretary will attend the meeting.
Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen is leading a four-member Bangladeshi delegate in the tour. Apart from Rohingya repatriation, issues like China's promised concessions and reduction of trade deficit will get priority.
Besides, economic development cooperation, clean energy and supply of Brahmaputra water information during flood season are also scheduled to be discussed.
It is mentionable that the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is likely to pay an official visit to China in July.
