Motive behind MP Anar`s murder unknown yet

Although the planning, killing, and involvement of the killers are known but the motive behind the gruesome murder of Jhenaidah-4 MP Anawarul Azim Anar, is not known yet.

On May 22, the Criminal Investigation Department or CID of India officially claimed that MP Anar was killed at Sanjeeva Gardens in Kolkata. Later, a video clip of around kilogram of flesh and bones came to light from the septic tank of the flat on May 28.

Though the CID and Detective Branch of Police (DB) formally announced regarding the body of the remains but none confirmed anything before the forensic report. However, DB assumed that the flesh belonged to the MP Anar.

Mumtarin Ferdous Dorin, the daughter of the slain MP, said that we will accept only after DNA test, whether it is part of my father's body or not. I am still not sure why my father died. If he is murdered then the reasons should be found after investigation. Politics or other issues would be the reasons behind the murder. I cannot accept that my father will be the victim of such a murder due to a business dispute.

Police said MP Anar’s childhood friend also US resident Akhtaruzzaman alias Shahin Mia is the mastermind behind the murder. And Amanullah alias Shimul implemented the killing plan.

On the other, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Police Commissioner Harun-or-Rashid is currently staying at Katmandu of Nepal as part of the investigation.

Before, leaving the country, he said that we will try to arrest the accused of the murder case and take back to the country. At the same time, we will try to recover the remains of the body of MP Anar. That’s why we could not start the investigation to identify the real reason behind the murder. However, the arrestees have provided some important information regarding the murder. Even though various reasons would work behind the murder but nothing can be said right now.

Following the issue, DMP commissioner Md Habibur Rahman said that the real reason can be known if Akhtaruzzaman Shahin, the ‘master mind’ of the murder, is arrested. For what reason he was killed, like the motive of this murder, neither the police of Bangladesh nor the police of India could find out. The motive behind the murder can be known after his arrest.
