MP Anar murder case: Arrest warrant issued against Siam

A court in Dhaka has issued an arrest warrant against Siam Hossain, a suspect in the murder of Jhenaidah-4 MP Anwarul Azim Anar.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mahbubul Haque issued the warrant after investigation officer of the case DB police assistant police commissioner Mahfuzur Rahman filed a petition.

Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station court’s general registration branch Sub-Inspector Jalal Uddin confirmed the matter on Monday (June 3).

Siam Hossain, an accused in the murder of Anwarul Azim Anar, has been arrested in Nepal based on the information of the National Central Bureau (NCB) of Bangladesh Police.

Police sources said that the Katmandu police wanted to hand over Siam to the Bangladesh police. However, complexities have arisen to get him back as there is no prisoner exchange agreement with Bangladesh.
